Hello $FIRSTNAME$,

How was your weekend?  Mine was beautiful.  We have had unseasonably warm weather.  We normally have our first frost in North Dakota in mid-September.  We still have not had any frost. Both days were close to 80 degrees.  Simply lovely weekend.

  


Question of the Week

 Where do you start when you want to start living a healthy lifestyle to move toward optimal health?

The simple answer is that you start right where you are.  Acknowledge how healthy or unhealthy you are.  Take measurements, find out how much you are moving, record your sleep, and do an assessment.  Once you know where you are, then figure out your goals.

What is it that you want to achieve in your health?

Now you have where you are and where you want to go.  Begin there.

However, most people really want to know do they start with food or exercise.  What do they tackle first?  The answer again is depending on where you are and where you want to go.

It is important to spend time reviewing your priorities and your life. Then with that in mind, what is realistic? When you start, it is so important to start right where you are with what you are motivated to change.  Achieve small, early success and it will be easier to stay motivated.  If you are ready to move, then move.  If you are ready to make changes to your eating, then start there.  You are the one that knows your body, your life, your health. 

The good news is that it is your decision and your choice.  Start there.
